He'll be at the used tackle sale in Chilliwack, Nov. 14/15. I think he is bringing 14 new reels. http://www.fishingwithrod.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=38579.0

Sorry for butting in ,but is there significant difference between Campbell's and Milner's pins?
If so what is it?

If you listen to the video again, he says he puts it on par with an Islander or a Kingfisher.
The click pawl is much like it.
He also says that the reels are hand made and that no 2 are identical.
I posted the video because I remember that guy did that video awhile back, and good luck finding any other sort of video a about Campbell's. At the very least, you could have watched the video and noticed similarities and differences yourself as he takes it apart and plays with the reel.

Oh ok I just missed that part thinking it was about IMW reel as I was watching both videos one after the other.

He has already had someone try to buy all the reels before the sale and has said no, the reels are for the sale.

Milner bushing reels are a brass bushing and Campbell is a aluminum bushing.
Both are great hand made reels.

Again, this is not why I want his contact info which someone gracefully gave me (thank you). I want it so I can talk with him and make arrangements to check out his reels or to find out where I can find him to check them out and most likely make a purchase.

If I could make the tackle sale then I would but it's just not in the cards and I cannot wait another year for the next one

Don had about a dozen reels at the sale today, sold out in under an hour.

Dennis K I could not answer your message as your message box says it is filled up?

When I got there at 7:15 or so, he had two reels left and I was luckily able to snatch up the 5" model he had remaining. They were going like hot cakes!

These reels are becoming very, very collectible.  I think Don could have asked double his price and they still would have sold out. To him this is a hobby, not a means to make money and that tells you a lot about this fine man ;)

I'm still using the second one he ever built, it's not quite as pretty as his newer ones, but has caught multiple fish and I've never wanted for anything more in a center pin.

Anyone have an idea how his reels compare to an islander steelheader?

Having used both, I would pick a Campbell over an Islander.

I've used both as well. The Islander is nice, but I like the "hand crafted" feel of the Campbell. It's such a solid well-built reel. Personally, I think the Campbell is more comparable to a Milner.

So it would be a wiser choice to buy a Campbell over an islander?

Personal choice. Both excellent reels

Campbell reels are true hand craftsmanship with limited production and very collectible .  Excellent reels

Islander reels are mass produced.

I would choose a Campbell over a Steelheader for sure. Think about it, you get a handmade quality reel for around $325.00, where you would otherwise get a mass produced Islander for either $379.99 or $425.00 plus taxes. The quality of a Campbell IMO is the same as a Milner. Not trying to knock the Steelheader though as it's a nice reel too, but not as good as a handmade reel. No two of Dons reels are the same which makes each of them very special.

To Hook, Don is 80 yrs old, he does NOT want costumers phoning him at home and his wife does not want anyone phoning his house about fishing reels, respect his privacy please there is a reason nobody gave you his number.

Your quite wrong actually however I have not contacted him yet. Got me grubby hands on a 5" Kingfisher for a good price so now I'll just do my best to meet up with Don at the next opportunity he is selling reels
