Title: Fishing above Sunshine Coast?

I am thinking of going for a fishing/hiking trip in Late August/Early September above Sunchine Coast, maybe Powel River area.
As I have never been there would love to get some info on fishing/hiking possibilities up there. I am not planning to do any ocean fishing, and do not have a boat. Would love to do salmon fishing or :) large trout fishing.

However you have a few obstacles in your way.

First off it's entirely possible that the entire area  will be closed because of a Backcountry Ban so have a backup.

Secondly water in the lakes up there @ that time will be the temp of bathwater and fishing will be tough.

 Salmon fishing from shore is rarely easy-you'll need heavier gear and detailed local knowledge as well as an expensive Saltwater license.Taws in Powell River might be able to help..

Hope I find out more about it, and find a place where it is possible to do shore Salmon fishing.
Why do you say that SaltWater fishing licence is expensive? I got one this year and it is much cheaper than fresh water.

you need a salmon stamp on the licence, and there may be other stamps needed depending on the type of fish......
