Title: Fly reel noise
Post by: RG on November 10, 2014, 10:19:20 AM
I have a brand new Redington Delta that I use on my spey and it just started making a rubbing noise of sorts when I pull the line out.  The reel has only fought two smaller chum, drag set fairly low.  It started making the noise after the second chum, wasn't even a long battle and no major runs.  Any thoughts?

That was my initial thinking with all the silt coming down the river, I rinsed it all out...The noise isn't a grinding though...

Check for debris like sand/gravel in the spool groove.

If you have given it a good rinse under the tap just take it back. Sounds like a warranty issue. Hopefully they'll do an exchange.

Turns out it was the breaks, it's gone and now replaced thanks to the guys at Pacific Angler.  Thanks for the help.
