Just got back from a quick 2 day trip to St Mary's-Bass are still active.
Tuesday aft the weather was hot as a firecracker on Saltspring but I still C&R'ed my second biggest Bass after 17 years of fishing the lake.Took 7 nice fish before supper and then a bunch afterwards.
Wed it was cooler and cloudy for the most part- fished hard all day-a bit slower but the bite did come on at times-you have to put in time, keep casting and move, move, move.
In particular I enjoyed some fabulous top water action-classic smashes and jumps from decent fish that went on for a good half hour.
Also this AM I went about 8 for 8 with top waters and the one big Bass I though it would kill for supper tonight I lost @ the boat.
I've never killed a fish out of that lake and look how they treat me! ;)
