Any updates for the Fraser: conditions, lower, upper, fish caught etc.
-
Just fished the mouth of the vedder from 9:00am-1:00pm. No luck. No fish caught by anybody. Not many on the finder. :'(
-
Hey Grumman, where do you launch to fish the mouth of the vedder?
-
55.9 lber landed yesterday by a bottom bouncer so the FOC boys say at 22 launch
Wow!!! that's quite the Monster!
-
Well how many times have the FOC boys been wrong?
I say give them all a seeegarrr and a blue ribbon. Let's go get em boys, lol.
-
really silly question, but I'm new to this stuff on the net here go!!s don't be too hard on me . what the he!! does LOL mean :-[ :-[REALLY SILLY QUESTION
P.S. don't tell anyone I asked
-
lol - laughing out loud.
Went for a walk this evening to see the water condition around Lower Fraser this evening. It looked good, clarity is better than last weekend. Should be good tomorrow for bull trout. :)
If anyone is interested in smelt, they were netting them by the buckets at Garry Point Park this evening.
-
and IMHO means "in my humble opinion" ;D
-
Anyone know where I can get a smelt net?
-
Mark,
army and navy have them not sure on their prices though.
-
Rodney,I would love a few buckets full ,I'll pay 3 dollars a pound .If anyone will sell them I will take 50 pounds today. We are talking oolichans, correct.
-
Of course, if he's recreationally harvesting them, then he'd have to GIVE them to you ;)
-
lol...
At first I was so sure they were oolies, but the ladies who were netting them said they were smelt and they don't like oolies because they are too oily to eat. :o I am no expert when it comes to smelt species... They do look broader and more silver than the oolies that we were catching a few years ago. Anyone else? :)
Don't ask me to net fish, I hate to net fish, it's too boring lol... ;D Crabbing too, can't stand it, the whole sitting and waiting while doing something else would drive me nuts, it would be easier just to go buy some. :D
-
Rodney, where is Garry Point Park? Is that in the Fraiser or ocean. Could you give me directions? How were you fishing for them (gil net or dip)
-
Richmond, mouth of the mighty Fraser

Crabbing too, can't stand it, .................
When I go to the Cates Park and others, while waitting for crabs to walk through the trap doors, I usually fish for herrings, Mr. Flounders and Grn.lings to kill time. Otherwise I don't think I can stand it, either..
(I know, I know, crabbing & fishing from Cates' pier has been closed for the season.. So, please don't yell..... ::) )
Also, crabbing may be boring, but eating things that I get from the nature kind'a sooth my inner cave-man urges...
I'm not quite ready for nettin' smelts though. I'm waiting to be bit older, then I'd look so sharp in the garbage bag wet-suit with a rope belt, and big plastic bucket tackle box.... It seems to be a standard issue for smeltin' people..

Looked at the Fraser this morning river may have dropped a bit but visibility is not that good for bar fishing as will be hard for the fish to see even a 0 Doctor. I think it will be only good for the fellows that like to fish the other way.
Talked to Nick this morning and he said he heard the fish landed was the weight as noted above and was caught the other way.
I just got back from a 2 day trip to the Merritt and Kamloops area and will file my report later about a fish to remember. Got to catch up on some chores first.
Will forward Fish A.'s his brief report first through the Private message first. ;D ;D ;D

I launch at Dewdney.
