Why would you waste a delicious Kokanee for bait?

Doesn't look like a kokanee to me. Looks like a coho. The mandible, dorsal fin, spotting, caudal peduncle all look wrong for a kokanee and more in line for a coho, I've never been to Lafarge and don't know anything about it, but I think Kawkawa also has landlocked coho. Not sure how the coho got into Lafarge. Maybe I'm out to lunch, but I don't think so.

Matt's correct. That's indeed a coho salmon (you can just see the spots along its dorsal region). I caught numerous coho salmon in Lafarge Lake last year, which I am almost sure that you have to release it. They most likely enter the lake via the storm drain which connects to the Coquitlam River on days when water is very high. Adult chum salmon can be seen in the lake at times too.

and thats why you need to know your species :-\
dont want to get caught with the wrong fish
Thanks for running this quiz Rodney it makes you think
and as the saying goes if in doubt let it go :)
I too have caught many Coho in Lafarge
