Title: 2013 River Cleanups
Post by: scouterjames on January 20, 2013, 04:10:24 PM
Just trying to put some plans and dates in place for our Scout group - are there any dates for lower mainland/Chilliwack river cleanups confirmed yet?

The Chilliwack/Vedder River Cleanup Society's website is http://www.cleanrivers.ca/ (http://www.cleanrivers.ca/)

It doesn't look like they have the 2013 dates up yet but Chris may know what dates they are looking at.

The webmaster of that site has been slacking... ;D

Actually I think we're just waiting for the dates to be finalized, which will happen when the directors meet with the City of Chilliwack and Fraser Valley Regional District. I'll have the dates available as soon as they are finalized.

The SSBC will be doing another event in the Squamish area along the lines of what we've been doing the last two years.  More later.

Thanks guys!

btw - anyone involved in organizing any of the cleanups should contact your local Scouts.  Most areas have an area leader meeting monthly and the word can be passed easily to all local Scout groups!

The directors just had a meeting yesterday to come up with tentative dates for the three cleanups this year. They will finalize them with the City of Chilliwack and FVRD soon. Once that happens, I'll have them available here and the website.
