Sam - you were right - Cabana #6 was excellent!
We fished evening and mornings, and one afternoon, with the inflatable.
I caught 4 bass and one perch in the time we were there, the largest bass probably being about 2 lbs. Most were from the dock! Using worms. Hard to describe how good a time it was. Here's a little (1lb'er - I think) one from the boat:

The weekend's snaps will be online soon, but only the one fish pic. We even saw some orca's on the way over on the ferrry. There are some BEAUTIFUL scenery shots - sorry haven't had time to retouch much.
Cheers!

Hey, I recognize that house in the background! ;D 5 more weeks until I go..... :) Can't wait...
-
It's for sale!
-
Glad you had a great time there. I may just head over during my vacation in September.
Can't wait for the pics...AND why can't you show ALL of them??? :o
That's all I have for fish pics, since Irene was sleeping yesterday a.m. while I caught the ones off the dock :) Soon for the pics...having some hosting problems.

For sale! :o
How does this sound? FWR Bass School & Ranch
-
OK the whole slide show of the trip.
You've got to remember - I just got the new truck, so it features fairly prominently in the pics :)

Looks like you had a good trip, i like the way u did the pics... :D
-
So uh.... I only saw one fish, and a lot of beer...
Somebody else was still sleeping when I caught the bigger one...Heck, the first one that morning, I had to run back to the cabin, and get the pliers to remove the hook, while the little guy swam around waiting (somewhat impatiently) :D
The beer - essential ingredient with any good meal :D

Thanks, I stole a javascript tool that did the slide show with fixed filenames, and wrote some code to fill it dynamically, so I can just throw pics into a directory, and with a config file, she's up and going. No fuss, no muss :)

It looks you guys had a load of fun.
Where did you buy the boat? I myself wouldn't mind to get something like that. How much does it go for?
I would appreciate if you could help me with this.
-
Costco - $129
Watch out for wind. It's like being a cork on the water :(
Row, row, row, row. Cast. Drift drift drift. Weeds.
Rinse, lather, repeat :)
Good for the arms.

Sorry Norm - quality won out (Oooh burn!!!)
Bass were non-retention only.
-
Retention is allowed after June 15th. That's why we are all going two weeks after that right? :)

Did you get a chance to see the big bass that comes up once awhile by the floating dock to show off? :o Last year we had our feet dipped in the water while fishing on the dock. At one point we brought in a small perch and two feet away from where we were sitting, this huge bass came up and tried to swallow the perch on my line. :o

I think I caught him. He was big! No scale or pics :( Just BIG. Quite a few arials! Bass are fun for that!
I'm still trying to determine if I can go in June. Not sure yet. Mark has to get better boats. The canoe that we tried using had a slow leak :o

I can't help but notice that nobody has commented on the rather large spider picture yet :)

Or Irene's overestimation of the little fish she caught :D:D:D:D:D

Actually I have a SERIOUS problem when it comes to wolf spiders like the one pictures...they freak me out...just one of those things I guess...totally illogical but can't help it. Went through your whole slide show and that pic caught me off guard for sure....next time more pics of fish...less of those spiders OK!
Ohhh BTW, I am not the only one with a spider fobia...just ask the Steelheadking about the time he just about knocked me and a table over escaping from one of those things!
-
I explained to Irene that he was keeping the bugs down. ;D She wasn't thrilled that he was hanging out with us, but heck...they're like a car wreck - scary, but fascinating :o
Pretty much the only critter in the cabana was him. - Nothing freaky or weird (thankfully)

i made up my own thaught on what irene was trying to say ;)

Yes, that DID come to mind as well :D

3rd week of June is usually the hottest time for sure!! I went with my girlfriend for a quick getaway last tues/wed and had great weather. Stayed at Lakeside in Cabana #8 (The best for afternoon and evening sun by far) and we managed to only land two bass over the two days. We had a fair amount of topwater strikes but nothing stuck. Even my massive supply of powerworms couldn't entice them :-\. I usually go in June and have had easy 50+ bass days both on topwater (early morning is incredible) and throughout the day. Fly-fishing is pretty mint as well with rolled muddlers and anything obnoxious.
One fish was on a small 3" pumpkinseed powergrub and the other, a real beauty, came on a orange/white J-7 Rapala. You can't beat this floating plug! ;D Fisheries also recently stocked the lake with smolt sized trout as well so you can have a laugh watching these guys nailing the hatching insects.
FYI, Mark has 4 new Cabanas at the resort to bring the total to 10 I think. Four of the campsites were built on over the winter and these are nice and new buildings with covered decks and water right at the cooking stations. Enjoy this fantastic fishery.

It's on an IIS 5.0 server with ASP.NET code.
