???
I just wondering because i was thinking of doing some fishing in the Squamish river this year
-
no this year.every odd year for pinks. later on in the fall there will be other salmi species available in the Squamish area.
-
You should try fishing for Chum salmon in that river, float fishing jigs if you are looking for some fun. Just remember to check the regs because I am pretty sure it is catch and release only on everything but hatchery coho and there is a bait ban in place.
-
Thanks for the info guys :)
-
Yes bait ban and all species are catch & release except for hatchery coho unless an in-season update is posted. All trout and char are catch and release as well. I miss the Squamish! Used to be huge runs of chum up that way but they have been decimated the last 6 or so years.

The only river I know that has a pink run every year is the campbell river.
-
you can fish pinks in nanaimo harbour, pen released.
-
Anywhere along the East Coast of Vancouver Island from the north end down to Nanaimo has been productive for pink salmon in the past couple of weeks. It should start tapering off now so if you wish to catch some, now is the time to make your way over there to enjoy it.

Just got back from campbell river and caught loads of pinks, 50-70 a day, all chrome as a bullet. lots of fun.

thanks guys and rodney :)
