I'm contemplating on going on a guided fishing trip in early June with some friends, and I was wondering if it was a good time to go. Specifically, I'm looking at the 5.5h charter from Bon Chovy: http://www.bonchovy.com/charters.php. What do you think?

I've heard lots of good input about them, might be better to do a full day and hit the gulf islands for better fishing opportunities and dropping the crab traps. You could always look into Pacific Angler as well.....great bunch of guys.

Contact either Bon Chovy Fishing Charters (604.763.5460 Jason or Jeff) or Pacific Angler (604.872.2204 Jason or Dave) directly and ask them how the fishing has been before you make a decision. Both are reputable guides and will be very honest with you on what you can expect and whether it is worth going out or not. My understanding is that the area around Gulf Islands has been producing very well lately, but you need to do a full day charter for that fishery. Not sure how it will be in a month from now, again the guides can provide you more info. :)

i have went on charters with both those companies in the past and have had great experiences with both. though i would recommend the full day experience with either one.
