Title: Rod repair?
Post by: Sinaran on February 03, 2012, 02:14:07 PM
While in search of my first Steelie of the season yesterday, I accidentally slashed my rod on a rock.  Sure enough, the rod tip broke and the guide fell apart.  So my question is, if the tip guide part is the only damage, is it possible to repair just that? Like replace it with a new guide or something. If so, where can i get it done? it is a Trophy XL custom series.
Thanks in advance!

If it is just the first guide broken, you can replace it by yourself, or go to any tackle shop to replace for approx $5.00.

My 10 year old daughter snapped the tip on her fly rod on her first trip to the Vedder (put it down to unhook a snagged line and stepped back onto it).  We took it into Fred's and they repaired it on the spot (I do not even recall if they charged me to do it).
