Title: getting my PAL
Post by: Matt on May 08, 2011, 02:17:29 PM
I need to get my gun course completed as soon as possible, in the LML so I can get my PAL. Anyone know someone teaching the course? I'm looking for non-restricted.

Probably most gun shops would shot you in the right... ;D ;D ;D

If you're in Vancouver:

Contact Silvercore Training Academy, I took mine there and was very happy with them.  My advice is to take both the Restricted and Non Restricted at the same time.  It's almost the same price, and gives you more options if you choose to buy restricted firearms down the road.  Any gun store has flyers from many different places that teach the course.  Takes roughly 6 weeks to be approved for the license, just in case that helps.

Kent Archibald in Cloverdale is your best bet. He is a really nice guy, very experienced and is far more than just a teacher. He offers the CORE hunting course as well (and will let you challenge the exam without taking the course if you have some previous experience)

Another vote for Wanstall's in Maple Ridge. Took the course this spring from their instructor named Dean - he is excellent. Very patient and thorough; lots of hands on training with the firearms.
Also, you get a 10% discount at Wanstall's on your first firearm after you pass the course - if you took the course from Dean.
