De gustibus non est disputandum - says the Latin - and so it goes: I like the taste of pink as I like the taste of all other salmon. But that is just me. Not all people have the same tastes, and shouldn't they, I think. Being a somewhat different variant of salmon, it is bound to taste in its particular way. I personally like it very much, can't really see why I wouldn't eat it at all. In fact, my wife is going to prepare soon a tasty dish of the ones caught yesterday... Mmm...

I have eaten the males with a small hump, check the meat for firmness, compare with other fresh fish, they are ok, just dont eat the fatty hump part.  Also, if you cook them in a sauce to add a bit of flavor it will cover the blandness of the fish a little.

Perfectly edible, the best way to cook Pink Salmon is on the barbecue, sprinkle a bit of brown sugar, coarse salt, and soy sauce on the meat and cook until you can see small pools of oil appear on the surface of the meat and its done. Pink Salmon are good on the barbecue as they don't dry out due to being fairly oily.

Then send em away to relatives for Christmas.  ;D ;D ;D

I've eaten pinks with humps before and as long as the meat is firm it fine, but most important keep it on ice to keep it firm as they will break down a little faster.
