I have talked to Randy at Hatch Matcher's today and he once again has committed to donating to this cause I just need to let him know when you need it. I guess the sooner the better. Just need to know where too drop it off. I also know that searun17 has got a commitment from another tackle shop as well.Thanx and Thanx !!!! Awesome stuff !! ;D the easiest place to drop stuff off would be Reaction, just tell them that they are for Rick and they will put it aside for me, I am there usually once or twice a week ... I have a few more prizes coming that will be announced in the near future !! a big Thank you goes out to all those that donate towards this cause !!
Ok !!! I figured I would get this idea going a little earlier this year and see if we can't improve on the already great numbers we got last year !! once again I am hoping we can get together a ton of great prizes and a big Potluck lunch !! last year we raised over $1000
I am sure we can improve on that number and really start to make a difference, and at the same time have a great time doing it.... I also hope that we can get into a few more Steelhead than we got last time :)
I am hoping that all of you will read this and let me know what we can improve on from last year to make this even Bigger/Better,
any and all ideas are appreciated, I will also be looking for a number of volunteers to help out with the organization and running of the derby..
I am thinking of either Sat Jan 19th or Sun Jan 20th for the date
anyone that is interested in entering or volunteering please let me know so I can get a list of names started

Ill be sure to enter this year, i havent in the past and would be interested in helping out but to soon to tell as my schedule is quite busy.
Hey Rick, I,m the only one to vote no as I have previous plans for that weekend. Let me know when you'll be out here in Chilliwack and I'll donate 5 packages of spinners ( 8 to a pack - 2 red, 2 gold, 2 blue and 2 green)That would be great , I may be out there this Sunday... probably only going as far as Abby though... I will let you know the next time I am in Chilly !!
Had a good time at the derby last year but Reaction is a little out of the way for people coming from this end of the valley.
Hey Rick,i think hats are not a bad idea i ve got quite a collection of hats so why not one more,Just a couple of things to think about though,with the final numbers of people attending the derby not known until derby day it will be just guess work on how many hats to have made and you may not have enough or possibly to many,maybe you could get enough hats made to give out to the winners of the derby and a few for draw prizes ,still charge 25 bucks to pay for the hats and what is left over ,if any ,donate it to the the finall total for the fundraiser.i don't know were you will be ordering the hats from but in most cases it takes up to two weeks from the time of your order to have the hats made up,which ends up in more guessing on the numbers required.
Nosey is coming from Hope I think, so I can see why he wouldn't want to drive to Whatcom then back to the Vedder. Perhaps someone local (Chris? ;) ) can register a few local individuals at Lickman Timmy's and hand the information and money to Rick later on? Just a suggestion. :)
Why not set up something with On The Way or another local to the river Bus. for those that find Reaction out of the way?The biggest reason is because I can't be everywhere at the same time, it is too much work for me to set up multiple sign ins, aswell as get to the river and get the weigh in and lunch etc setup, I have already offered to sign up some people over the internet and have them pay me at the weigh in... I believe this will take care of any problems there may be... for most people RFT is a convenient location to sign up in the morning...
Im sure they wouldnt mind a few extra customers coming through there doors.

Also for the fly-division do you just skip trying to catch a fish and go straight to the draw? ;)
To all, the money being raised could go to diverting the water away from the Ranger Run slide, Last year i contacted David Lamson (president of CRAC), if he had some cashola last year when it was low , they could of maybe got the river back down the Old Ranger Channel and prevented the high coloration of the river and silting of the gravel, Just a thought. If anyone knows David personally inquire about CRACS needs as the money spent there does good things
Since we are only a few weeks away from the Derby, I think it would be a good time now to start figuring out what kind of food items each person will be able to bring to the luncheon....
I am going to be providing anything that can't be brought by others... I am going to provide hot chocolate for sure, maybe some danishes for dessert, I am bringing all the tables/tents/BBQ etc... we are going to need hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, sandwiches, dessert, pop plus anything alse we can think of !! I also have some firewood set aside for the fire to keep warm :) if anyone else has some wood please let me know ahaead of time
I am pretty sure that we will have Venison Chili again this year which was a huge hit last year courtesy of Thomas....
We will have the Coffee again from Tim Horton's, not 100% positive yet but I think Reaction Fly and Tackle have offered to provide the Coffee this year

No way thats going to happen,he is on his own for this one ,no more pointers when there is a friendly competition to be won,im driving him there but im going to drop him off at lickman and i a am going to go elsewhere,man he is 14 he can figure it out for himself. :D ;D ;)
