Here's my hunting partner's friend with a monster ram that he just got. He's 39.5 by 40 with 15inch bases. Bob was alone on the hunt so no one collected this rams twin. They were both together. http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee209/droussanidis/steepcountry.jpg (http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee209/droussanidis/steepcountry.jpg) http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee209/droussanidis/hugeram2.jpg (http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee209/droussanidis/hugeram2.jpg) http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee209/droussanidis/beutifulscenery.jpg (http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee209/droussanidis/beutifulscenery.jpg)

-
beauty island elk Hawg Hunter.... huge CONGRATS on a fine animal ;)
-
Younggun ive seen those pics around you are claiming them as yours. Did you actually go on any of those hunts or ??
Hawg hunter did you post a story on that hunt? i think i remember it. It was a good story congrats on the draw
-
Kellya, no I didn't post a story on the hunt. Just got back Sunday night.
As far as the story goes, I would like to say I scouted the area for weeks and stalked for days...
I was very fortunate to get this animal as I only had a limited time to hunt. We were driving into a logged off area, and stopped to check the area over thouroughly. When we thought we would move on, we turned the truck around and as we were pointing straight in to the logging slash this bad boy stood up. Was all by himself at about 240 yards. He is definately a mature bull and my first elk.
I personally had not been out hunting for about 4 years, kids, family etc. Looking like I am definately going to get back into it again. The day prior, I got a chubby spike buck as well in the same area.
-
hate to prove u wrong but ya i've posted them on 2 other sites, and ya thats my uncle Sam with his nephew "Fonz" with the elk, and my uncle's buddy Bobby.
-
Ok thats what i figured. Nice animals though

What a rack! Mule deer?
-
yup, mule deer. the pic of me holding the rack was with camera at arms length ..... i was solo on this hunt.
this ones off to the taxidermist tomorrow...... he's going on my wall
-
In that last pic it seems that u cut pretty far into the brisket, will ur taxidermist be able to sow that all up properly if ur doing a full sholder mount?
-
I had seen and heard wolves in the vicinity, lots of sign, and as i was beginning to field dress this deer.... i could hear them from opposite the meadow.... probably 500 to 600 yards out. I had a 2 km drag with a 250plus lbs deer.... and needed to lighten the load..... a proper caping job was the last thing on my mind, which is kinda a bummer but my taxidermist figures he can work with it. If not i'll get it done as a european mount. I went back for the hide and the front quarters in the moring having left them in game bags hanging 30 feet off the ground.
-
Good pics guys looks like lots of success this year

Definately one for the wall, that is a massive mule deer!
