Hello all,
This is my first post. I'm relatively new to BC and I love to fish.
My father is coming to BC from May 22 to June 12th 2007 and he (me too) wants to go on a couple days fishing trip. We have in mind some type of guided trip as he'll be here without gear, knowledge etc. Can anyone out there help me out with recommendations? We've got some criteria:
1. Two or three days max
2. A big trip, to a place like Queen Charlotte, etc. is out of our budget.
3. We want to go saltwater fishing for salmon primarily, halibut too would be nice.
4. We don't want to be with, like 10 other people on the same boat.
5. We wanna catch fish!
OK, to the questions...
1. Where's the best place to go that time of year (I've heard west coast of Vancouver Island)?
2. Who's a good company / group to go with? I've heard of Murphy's, Oak Bay Marine, west coast fish
Can anyone help or offer suggestions?
Thanks!
Dave

You can try Corey's in Port Hardy. They're great people. A few friends go every year.

Try http://fishmyster.com/ out of Ukee or Greg MacInroy out of Winter Harbour

sounds like ideal time to hit some halibut at swiftsure bank :)

You could also try Jack Bauer at Tofino charters http://www.tofinocharters.com/ (http://www.tofinocharters.com/)
West coast of Vancouver Island, stay at Weigh West http://www.weighwest.com/ (http://www.weighwest.com/). Great bar and atmosphere.

Sooke is a great place with resonable costs and lots of fish!!, Ron from 2reel fishing adventures is a great guide with resonable prices. If you want to go offshore for excellent coho and halibut fishing try swiftshure bank. However It is about 900-1000$ for a day trip :-\

Their is a great member on this board that can help you. His name is Iron Noggin and is in Port Alberni. Do a member search and contact him and ask him questions. I know first hand that he knows what he is doing and you would not go wrong with him. Here is his website

I agree with discussing this with IronNoggin for sure. Here is a video clip of a trip back in July.

He's offshore right now doing his last commercial trip of the year. I'm sure he'll reply once returning.
