Title: Trophy Fraser King Rod
Post by: Stratocaster on June 03, 2006, 08:25:38 AM
I'm looking into getting a rod that can do double duty as a bar rod for springs and a sturgeon rod from shore.  If the fraser king is able to chuck out 18 oz of lead, could it handle sturgeon as well?  I know there are lots of sturgeon rods out there in the 7-8 foot range that will work great for sturgeon but the longer rods are favored for barfishing springs.  It would be great if I didn't have to get two rods.

I have one of those rods and it can easily handle most sturgeon. I have caught fish to 6' using it.

You might want to check out the 10' Berkley glowstick!!  See Berry's about the rod, that is where I got mine!!  This rod is heavy enought for Sturgeon, I have landed an 8 footer with it.  It might be a bit big for Bar-fishing, but it was the rod that I was planning on using for barfing this year until I picked up an Ugly stick!!  ;) ;D
