As usual I had a late start to my fishing day. Arrived around noon to see a couple of fishermen occupying my favourite run. They were both drowning worms and reported no action. So I headed downstream to take advantage of the high tide. The river is low and crystal clear. With the water as low as it is I concentrated my efforts on the faster water stretch. Fifteen minutes in my effort was rewarded. My float suddenly disappeared as it drifted by a rock ledge. I reeled in the slack and set the hook. Fish On ! Unfortunately after a few seconds the hook became dislodged. Approximately 30 minutes later I had another take down on a roe bag. Unfortunately I missed that one. Nice day to be out although a bit chilly.
