Title: Steelieman Report for 2/10/2006
Post by: steelieman on February 10, 2006, 01:15:20 PM
Went out this morning but the wind was howling like nuts. Tried steelieman run did not hook into anything. Guess what? As soon as we walked out of the run, a guy walked in and got one. :-[ :-[ :-[ Thats how it goes sometimes.

The guy accross us got one before we got there. The time was only 7:15 a.m!!!!

Walked up a bit further and decided to try this shallow run. My buddy told me that it was too shallow for steelies. I thought otherwise and within 5 minutes, I was into one. I could not tell if my float took a dive or not as I the wind was doing funny things to my drift. Because of that, I did not set the hook properly. I played it for a few minutes but it got off.

Left early as I could not take the wind anymore!!!!!!

Cammer

I was just referring it to what it was like a week ago. I agree that some fish are still being caught in the side channels. Thats exactly what I did today but the wind did not help with the fight.

Flow is still pretty good but the wind sucks big time though.
