Got to the river around 7:15 and was surprised to see fishermen everywhere. Saw an empty stretch of water but when we got there( 10 minutes of driving around), it was loaded with about 10 firshermen. So, we tried a bit higher but did not touch anything. Well, two hours went by and nothing and our original spot was starting to thin out so we drove around again.
Half an hour into fishing, my float went down and within 5 minutes, landed a beautiful 8-9lb wild steelie. Not bad- out three time and each time, I manged to hooked at least one fish.
Cast my line in after that one and boom!!! float went down again but I missed it. The guy next to me saw that and casted his in and guess what? He got a beauty 8lb hatchery fish. Thats my luck eh????
I emailed the pix to Rod. Hopefully, he can post it.
