Sorry for the late post about the weekend!!!! But here it is. Fished the lower fraser again this weekend. Tried 3 different spots at various tides. Used Spring roe, Pink roe, and some Chum roe. First thing in the morning, on the pinl roe, hit a 4 lb dolly in about 10 min. Put up a pretty good fight!! ;D ;D Man is that ever a nice looking fish. Well to me anyways. Then about an hr or so later the pole goes off again, this time a much bigger hit, more aggressive. Set the hook, nice head shakes, and when I got hime to shore, turned out to be another 3-4 lb wild coho, so let him genlty go to return to his travels. After that, it slowed a bit so I headed up river to a spot that is usually good on high tide. Nothing there. Not even a sniff. At this point I was almost out of roe. What to do???? Awww I got it!!!! I called Searun 17 and asked if he wanted to go fishing. he said yes, I said "bring a lot of roe". Problem solved!!!! ;D ;D So, about an hr later we are back on the river in the third spot of the day. We got our lines in the water, about 5 min later, Searuns pole heads for the water!!!!! Set the hook, pole doubles, Fish on is yelled. Followed by, Fish off!!!!! That was just the start of 5 straight massive hits that Searun had. Bad hooksets I guess!! ;D ;D We only got to see one of the fish. A rather nice 10lb doe chum. Then It pretty much turned off. Until about we were ready to leave. I was packing up the rest of my gear, searun yells,"Hey your rod". Almost gave me a freakin heartattack. By the time I recovered, the rod was still. Didn't move again!!!!! :'( :'(
But all in all, it was an entertaining day!!!! With a fair amount of excitement. You know it is pretty strange. I have now hit 5 coho bar fishing, only 2 float fishing. I would have never expected that at the start of the year. But it will change rather quickly, I'm having some float fishing withdraw!!!! ;D ;D I'm gonna have to go get me some ho's floatin this weekend!!!! ;D ;D
