Title: Chilliwack/Vedder Saturday Oct 22 Report
Post by: happygillmore on October 22, 2005, 09:28:20 PM: Any news from the Chilliwack/Vedder today? The water level looks like it is going down. Has the visability improved? I don't want to drive 3 hours early Monday morning only to find the river still blown out? If you were on the river today I'd love to hear how the conditions were and if it is good fishing.

Post by: steelieman on October 22, 2005, 09:44:57 PM: Water is a tad too high but clarity is ok...about 2-3 feet. Hooeked into lots of Springs, jacks and doggies. Still no Cohos for us yet !!!!

Post by: Hello on October 22, 2005, 10:31:03 PM: I was flyfishing the Vedder Canal this evening and it was brutal. Couldn't even catch a spring or chum. Also I fised for about an hour with no other fisherman in site on the length of the canal.

Travelled up above Tamahi, and fished a pool there, tied unto a black boot, thankfully he busted off after a belly flop. Fished till about 9:45, with not much else happening, and rain hitting, glad to hear the ho's have made it up river.

I was getting very discouraged earlier that morning as I found a run that had Coho passing right by me all morning. Counted about thrity go by. This one made up for it.

Post by: Rybar on October 27, 2005, 04:54:39 PM: I know this is a little late, but thought I would share. Caught this hawg male coho on the Vedder last Saturday 22nd.

It weighed 14 lbs. this was only my second coho of the year, but the nicest one I ever caught.

I've been to the Vedder and Chihalis since and have been skunked. But I guess they are out there if you can find them.

I caught a 12lber earlier this year down in the cannel and a 9 or 10 lber which was wild (boo-hoo), in the canel as well. There has been no more coho for me this year I brought 1 home thats it and man that sucks for me. :'(
