It pays to look for a spot far from the maddening crowd. Caught a 22 lb spring with red & orange wool and lost 2 prior. procured roe did not yield any hit.

Hey all,
I was also up past the vedder crossing on sat. Took my girlfriend and she hooked her first spring. Unfortunately she didn't have the tension very tight and freaked out about what to do and finally lost it. Anyways she had a great time.
The reason I'm posting is that about what I saw. Someone took a massive truck and dumped a huge load of crap right over the edge onto the river bank. I'm not sure what can be done about this but I sure hope that they find the bastards how did this!!
Did anyone see it?
Anyways we had a great day in our "sercert spot" (no one fishing near us) and lost a huge springs on 14lb main line. Stripped my reel bare.
Cheers,

maybe a clean-up? ??? ??? ???
-
thats brudal people who do that shoudl be put in jail

This may have been from the "camp site" cleanup that just took place. I know that the City of Chilliwack has sent a crew there to aid in the cleanup today. I heard that included old batteries and other harmful substances. The pictures that were posted were unbelievable.

hey im heading out to the vedder tommorow in seach of some springs anywhere in area producing well

Don't waste your time on the Vedder now, it's blown. So is the Chehalis. We were scheduled to be in town for two more days, but after seeing the river rage, we left today. Yesterday was a different day; 3 of us caught and landed 10 springs, 12 coho and 9 chum.

the springs are there in full force they can be found throughout the system.

how long does it usally take for the vedder to drop ?

it depends if the rain keeps on cummin or slows down. its majorly blown. if the rain slows down, probably 3-5 days for normal conditions.

Thanks Fishforever. We put in alot of hours the past couple days covering litterally most of the river. Not to mention that the larger fishing party of ours (8-total people) were in other places scouting. Being connected with radios so we knew where they were as well as throwing in a little luck with the skill and knowledge and anything is possible.

Coho are funny. You can go a week with no fish then 10 in an hour ??? Timing and conditions are key.
-
Hmmm... sounds fishy, but I'll say what the hell, Its possible.

I can't see where this is going or why it was brought up in the first place... ::)
FishFreak, what outcome are you expecting from this discussion? You say bentrod et al didn't catch 12 coho, he said he did, you said you don't believe him, he said he did.... Are you actually expecting him to say that he didn't and it was just made up? Is that when satisfaction is met?
It's a fishing report, it's not the Bible. ::) Believe it or not, it's up to you, why even bother to get yourself into this kind of "debate"?
Good for bentrod if he and his friends got into 12 coho, I have only been able to find one or two during each trip and not landing a single thing. If he and his friends didn't, big deal, how does that affect my fishing ability? Not a whole lot.

We fished the Vedder from 6:45AM till 6:30 PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We hit holes every day from the meat hole to HWY 1 bridge. We had our best luck on Sunday. No I did not have a camera with me. It was raining most of the day sunday and I'm not about to ruin my camera to brag on a site like this. This is a report site, not a bragging site. Pay attention to Rodney, he posts his bragging pictures (like his arsenal of fishing rods) on the discussion link. Just because I am a "junior member" does not mean I am a junior fisherman. I am not about to travel 9 hours one direction to fish in a place if I don't catch fish. I do my homework and work hard while I'm fishing. I have been fishing all my life. I learned from my Father who learned from his and on and on. I have also had many lessons from my guide friends in Oregon, (who by the way are my friends who were with me). I also get paid to fish. Enough said, I'm tired of defending myself to someone who has never had a great day of fishing.

Fishery issues are constantly being debated, changes are made from those debates eventually.
You're arguing against someone's words, basically calling him a liar. That's not a debate, that's why quotation marks were put around it in my previous post. It's an accusation that cannot be, and not even worth to be, proven. Not everyone likes to post photos of their catches on the net, bentrod has nothing to prove to any of us. He was simply providing an update on how they made out over the weekend like the rest of us.

So um... Who pees further than who? ;)
I think that last little interaction is a good indication of the quality drop in this thread, time to lock it up before one says something he or she might regret later.
So this is what happens when a coho season is slow! ;D
