Just got back from a fun day at the stave. Short floated roe sacks and man were they hammering them. Hooked into about 6-7 chums in a 2 hour span. Landed 4 of them. Couple decent ones but all were thrown back. Lots of fun fighting them on the pin. Also went to the toilet bowl at the end to see what was going on. Saw lots of springs jumping.

sweet! chums are fun to fight, but I find they give up easy.. springs are more fun for me :P
-
hope u washed up after you left the toilet bowl.. things can get pritty messy
-
Do you float fish for springs at the bowl too?
-
Yes we did although we were targetting jacks. You never know what will bite your line though.

Float fishing in the bowl is fine. You'll mostly hit coho jacks and occasionally some adult coho. I like to fish with a light float, 8lb test main and leader, size 4 or smaller hook, for the coho jacks in there. Lots around, great fun with some roe bags.
