When I awoke this morning was feeling a little under the weather so decided I should just hang around home for the day, by mid afternoon I was climbing the walls and decided to head out bar fishing.  When we arrived to the river there was one other angler who told me he had just lost a nice coho around 8lbs when he tried to net it, this got me a little excited.  We fished for around 2hrs, my girlfriend caught her first dolly varden of the fall around 2lbs as well as a couple of bullheads all on pink roe.  No fish for me today, I was tossing spinners and spoons.  Sure was great to be out bar fishing the river again even though I got skunked.

How was the water clarity?

That rain in the forecast up north will probably affect the clarity down here again.

visability was around 10-12" where I was fishing

With the bait ban lifted I decided to try some bar fishing today on the lower Fraser. I spent a couple of hours and had on solid hit. There was a brief flurry of activity around 1:30PM when almost everyone was getting bites and one chrome chum doe was landed.

Visibility was less than one foot Rod. You may have to break down and try bar fisihing for a change. ;)

I've done ok with this water clarity in the past by spinning as well... Maybe I'll give it a go later on this week. :)

I went down and tried my hand at bar fishing again on sunday,  figured that I should get some use out of my roe!!!!!   I had one good hit as well, there was one wild doe coho and a jack coho landed just before I got there at around 8am!!!  Then on the incoming tide i was surprised how many chum were rolling out in front of us in casting range...  But I didn't have my spinning gear with me, so I just sat there watching.  After that I went for some sturgeon.  Nothing, tried every bait I could think of, not a nibble out of a hole that I always at least hook one!!!!  Wrong time of year perhaps?!?!?!?!?

so jus ont feel like driving 2 hours+ at least? chillin an hoping is  the  way  you go

From the reports I've been getting around Richmond in the last few days since the bait ban was lifted, it has been very slow.

I'm waiting for this water to clear up a bit so I can do some spinning. :( This happened three years ago as well, water clarity was poor once the hatchery coho fishery was opened. Last year was fantastic, the water stayed clear during the entire season.
