Title: new 'breathable waders" - but neoprene boots cause much dampness...leak?
Post by: dennisK on October 05, 2005, 06:32:00 AM
My buddy bought some new breathable waders and after a full day of fishing the pant cuffs  (just to ankle level) of his jeans underneath were very damp...but not soaking wet...kind of strange...i thought that with breathable waders everything was supposed to be bone dry...

anyways he's a big guy...but was wondering if ultra dampness near the neoprene booties was "normal" since the rest of his pants underneath were indeed totally dry.

Hey Dennis,

It is more likely persperation.. Although, the waders themselves are breathable the neoprene feet are not. Big fellas tend to sweat more than the average guys.
 I hope this helps.

I agree, sounds like sweat to me.  If it's bugging him, I'd try a lighter weight sock, or wearing breathable clothing like light fleece etc.
