My dad and I headed to the Island this past weekend for a visit to Nootka Sound. We were 10 minutes late for our reservation, BC Ferries (love them :-\) wouldn't honour the reservation even though the ferry was 20 minutes late. Got into Campbell River at 1am as a result.
Had never been through Strathcona Park, very nice...

We finally got to the inlet after hours of travelling, beautiful, flat calm, crystal clear and fish jumping (not a good sign). It was very cool to see them cruising around just off shore in ~10 to 15ft of water.

No luck our first day...so we decided to try the river the next morning. Lots of chinook and the odd coho. Crystal Clear...we threw everything at them except bait, nada. Hit the inlet for the pm and finally got an 8lb Coho. That was it for the trip, no more.

Definitly not as hot as Bamfield 2 weekends previous.
