Title: Vedder today Sept.25
Post by: Big Steel on September 25, 2005, 05:16:23 PM
Just got back from the Vedder.  It was a bit slow, a fair amount of jacks and a few pinks.  But did hook into a hatchery coho about 6lbs.  Will post pic in my album when I get a chance.  Hooked another, bit he popped the hook pretty quick.  The other coho was a doe.  My buddies hooked a few pinks and kept a jack that was in good shape for the smoker.  Still a good day overall.  Hit the coho on pink roe at about 7:30 am. :D :D
Check another run later in the day, it had really deepened out since the last time we were there.  So we chucked some metal.  Had a few good raps, but nothing stuck.  My buddies hooked into a few more, including a big coho, but it to spit the hook before to long. :P :P

wow, I hooked like 10 pinks and 1 coho or spring, not sure it snapped my leader.. I was out a bit late in the afternoon tho, I had to help my dad in the morning. My dad had a big spring, but he thougt I yelled "huge pink" instead of "huge spring" so he started to bring it in like nothing, and you don't want to mess with a 30 pounder, haha 1 pull and snap goes the line :P oh well.. next time! btw nice fish!

I haven't tried flyfishing for coho yet, but I'm sure that I will get around to it.  Good job.  All we need now is some friggin rain!!!

Register an account with www.photobucket.com then you can upload your pictures there, and once you uploaded it.. it shows you the picture with 3 "links" under it.. something like this :

I agree, being in the fresh air is the best thing with the mountains around you and everything.  Doesn't even matter if you catch a fish does it?????? ;D ;D
I don't catch any either though so don't feel bad!!!  Check my album it is pretty much empty!!!! ;) ;)

Nice fish!

I was also there that day fishing with a buddy. It was a bit of a zoo at the popular spots.
We fished the upper river and only caught some pinks...we let them go.
I can't figure out how to post pics on this forum either?

Tight lines...catfish
