Arrived at the bar around 1:00 and saw right away it was going to be a good day. :) Fish rolling everywhere, close enough to shore to put my my waderless wife and her new 7'6" Ugly Stick within easy cast range. The bar has a pretty steep drop off that puts you right over the fish at a lower tide.
Within minutes she had her first one on, and with me making minor adjustments to the drag as she fought, we landed our first Pink!!! ;D Nice clean bull... gooood eatin.
With the tide starting to come in strong, the next hour was great fishing. She landed her second bull but it looked a little ugly so I released it. Besides I couldn't have her two fish up on me :D
After that, things started to slow down, as soon as the tide got high and the water got a little murky.
I had about 6 fish on but couldn't land one, I guess I'm rusty :-\ but now my wife's hooked and can't wait to get out again.... which means I get to fish more which is good ;D
Took us a few tries to find the right lures. She ended up with my only pink croc, and I used a pink fox. Not a Rod special I'm sure, but we did O.K. with what we had.
All in all.......... Good Day
Next time I'll probably break out the Fly Gear.
