Got to the river around 10am and could barely see the other side due to the smoke from the bog fire. Pulling up to my spot I notice a familiar face, a nice lady who netted a few of my fish last week. As I get out of my car I notice she has a fish on, hoping to return the favour I grab my net and quickly crawl down the rocks, when I get beside her we see the fish roll and notice its not a pink but a rather large chinook :o. She very skillfully plays out the fish on her trout rod spooled with 10lb line, and then like a dream she guides the fish into the net. The fish could only fit less then halfway into the net, and as I tried to lift it the net nearly bent in half so I made a quick grab for the tail and lifted it onto shore. She took it to Berrys and it weighted out at 25lbs I believe, what makes the story even better is that she caught the fish on a one of Rodneys spoons she had found the day earlier. Definatly one of the more memorable fishing trips in years.
Pink fishing picked up around 1 and the action was very good, left by around 3 with 4 fish. Many fish were also lost, at one point I made four casts and had a fish on every cast.

What an added bonus, a 25 lb. spring ! White or red ?
-
WOW thats insane that thing must of put up a fight of life!!
-
not sure if it was a white or red
-
nice chinook!!!
-
NICE! How long did it take to land that. The old rule of thumb is 1 min for every pound.
My guess is 25 min (round to 30).
Let us know if it's red or white.

good for her very nice spring :o

lucky, she came back just after you left and bought 8 spoons! ;D
Well, at least someone was skillful enough to turn a chinook around... ::) While lucky, slick, LukeYVR, Chrome Mykiss dad were watching, I also tried to turn a chinook around that went 100mph but with no luck. I looked down on my reel and 3/4 of the line was already out. It eventually came off the hook. :-[
I am not sure why Fish Assassin left so early, probably because he got fed up with spincasters on his right and left hooking one after another one. ;D Fishing was on and off today. When it was on, it was HOT! I managed to hook at least 15, landed most of my fish near the beginning with Ron's help. I let them all go, but at the end I just remembered that I promised to bring fish home for a couple of people! :-[ I did the drive of shame back with an empty cooler in the end... ::)
Some of the fish were incredibly strong today. There were a few times when I had to reel in really fast to keep up with the fish as it swam towards me.
LukeYVR was on fire today! He hooked into at least 6 in 20 minutes while we hooked nothing! Three casts, three fish, two landed! :o
Nice to see FishOn, gman, canoeman, slick, Obi Wan all got into fish today. :)
