Title: Fraser River August 31st
Post by: spring_killa on August 31, 2005, 07:26:11 PM
Today, me and my buddie headed to Peg Leg for the first time this year in search of the Spring's, and yet , we were not disappointed. Throughout most of the day , we kept hookin and landing sockeye's and pink's. No sign of the big Spring's. As we were fishing, my buddy yell's "fish on", and instantly i put my rod down, to go help him out. We first assumed it was a snagged sock or pink, but realized quickly that in fact it was a spring. There was some hesitation while fighting the fish, thinking he may lose it. That was not the case. My buddy landed a nice chrome 25 pound white spring, and about an hour later, i also landed a 32 pound chrome white spring. It was a great day out on the water.

Pics will be posted soon!

Not surprised you're seeing them in the Fraser now...in Sooke we've being seeing some good numbers of whites.  Over the last couple weeks lots of the big ones have been white....HArrisons I assume?

Harrison is directly behind the island at peg leg so its above the mouth. Also still too early for Harrison. Many other rivers such as the Quesnelle, Shushwap, Thompson etc. get whites and as I've mentioned before they start to show up at the start of July.

Being August 31st, I'd expect they'd be pinks ;)
