Was just shopping up in Westwood plateau and while waiting in the car I saw 2 FN's get out of their pickup with 6 Sockeye in a garbage bag and hand them over to a IGA worker who came out to meet them. The IGA worker was wearing a pair of gloves so we assume he was in the fish department. License plate number of the FN was recorded and details handed over to DFO, If your reading this, your up my smelly socks creek!

Good job.
-
was it a clear garbage bag, so you could see that there was 6 sockeye? just wondering.
-
great job way to go hope the store gets busted good
-
You're seeing things Trout Slayer. Everybody knows that First Nations catch sockeyes for food only. :P DFO says so ! :P :P
-
I guess ALL killed sockeyes are used for food, aren't they ;)
-
Send the info in a letter to the editor of the Tri City News the editor is Richard DelMonte. The managment of that IGA needs to publicly embaressed. No better way than to have it published in the local rag.
-
Let's not be so quick to convict. Does anyone have any irrefutable proof that IGA is purchasing these salmon ? Perhaps it's an employee buying them for his own consumption.
-
hey TS...did the employee head back into the store with the fish?
-
you should have called the rcmp right there
then you could have watched the employee get charged
and the store and the fn go scott free
-
Excellent work!!!
DFO wants this info. They are waiting for our tips to help them. There are not enough of them to cover the whole lower mainland.
-
i'd love for anyone seeing these FN people selling fishing rd side or what ever to take their pics......and post them.
its a food fishery really, ya right.
-
Good questions, yes they were Sockeye, they were taken out of the back of the pickup and placed in the bag, then the worker proceeded to walk back in the store with the fish in had. Good suggestions, will consider them.
