Title: Line..
Post by: Nikko on August 24, 2005, 04:28:26 PM
I had to re-spool a couple of reels in a hurry so I grabbed some line (15 lb) from Wal-mart.

MISTAKE!!

This stuff takes a springy set and curls really bad. This isn't good for kids learning to cast as it also rat's nests' really bad.

Funny...it worked fine for the first few outings.

I have to change it. BUT...what to change it to? What's the favorite brand name these days ands where's it purchased?

Using a couple of older Diawa spinning reels (one large, one medium sized..sorry, model numbers not handy) and a Diawa knuckle buster. I'm mostly casting or mooching from a small boat and (rght now) primarily for pinks in the arm.

If maximas too $$$ try "speed line" it costs less and it has no line twist to it or anything.

Thanks all.

I learned a long time ago that when it comes to buying tools, I try to cry only once. I guess I forgot that philosophy when it comes to buying line :)
