Thats like that thing about the "Pinook" is that fish real and if so why the heck is it real lol.

Triploid has been arround for awhile now. Chapman hatchery has mentioned that trout stock in lakes are tripoid. This is to prevent damage to wild stock straind.

I don't know. bio-genetics is a relative new technology. triploid do occur naturally except in humans they rarely survive (3% of pregnancy).

The big benefit about AF3N stocking is that the fish grow to be quite large, quite quickly.  They SAY the fish are sterile - the result is that the food energy goes into growing, and you bet bigger fish faster.

triploid are also used when spawning conditions are poor or none available
