Hello everyone. Me and my family are gonna go camping in Paradise Valley, Squamish on the long weekend. Just wondering if there's any recent fishing report for Alice Lake, Squamish, Chekamus river? Appreciate all the input/tips I can get.

The Squamish River should have some pink salmon by then, but it is catch and release only.
Alice Lake should still have some rainbow trout as the hatchery has stocked it quite a few times with large numbers of fish.

Hey Rod, I have it on good authority that that there is a mass of pinks, far larger that expected, at the mouth of the Squamish. Keep your ear to the ground it looks like an opening is in the works.

Thanks Rod, Newman. Look's like it's going to be a good fishing weekend. :)

Hey Newsman, I have news for you, you have been had. There is no massive amounts of pinks at the mouth of the Squamish. I work on the sound 5 days per week and if they were there in any numbers I would see them. There are a few but hardly a massive amount. No where near what it was 2 years ago.As far as a opening, not with the amount there are there now. No opening in the forseeable future as far as I know and I sit on the local sportfish advisory board.

That tip came from the chair of sport fishing advisory council.

I will be participationg in a Squamish - Lillooet Sportfish Advisory Board meeting conference call on Wednesday and Squamish Pinks is one of the things on the agenda. I will update the status of the Pinks after the call.

What with the Llamma? Some kinda whooley bugger hootchie cross?

As promised, I participated on the local Squamish - Lillooet Sportfish Advisory Board conference call tonight and Pinks were on the agenda. The results of that call in regard to pinks is that the pinks will remain closed. At this time there are not the amount of fish in the river to warrent a retention fishery. This will be looked at again in another week or ten days and if the returns will be assesed again. Until then, pinks are still closed.
