I find the meat on the china rockfish a little tuffer than the other breeds of rockfish and not as flavorful . The last time I had one I deep fried it whole , then poured a can of pineapple sweet and sout sauce over it.

Yes, I caught quite a few when fishing just south west of Ucluelet - got some halibut, cabezon, grey cod, ling cod, china rockfish and salmon.

we caught quite a lot of them when we went bottom fishing off the canadian princess .we didn't want them so we just tossed them back and only kept the yellow eyes  and other breeds of rock fish.
