Post by: oddjob on June 28, 2005, 07:57:13 PM
You may think this is a dumb question but what does pro cure do for the prawn tails , does it firm them up , add flavor , add color . Can you just use the prawn tails as is and will they work ?

It toughens them and add colour. Yes, you can use them fresh.

Don't bother wasting your Procure on ghost shrimp. I've used it and it doesn't work as well as fresh ghost shrimps.

Am i right to asume the prawn tails are shelled and cooked  before you pro cure them ? When you hook them , are you going with the curve or how are they hooked ???About what size is best ,or is larger the better.

Not necessarily, you can cure them raw and in the shells. The ones you buy from tackle shops are raw.
