Post by: Fish Assassin on May 24, 2005, 09:24:25 AM
River down from yesterday. Still has decent flow but dropping fast. Fishing slow; no success by the fishermen present.

fished this morn'in, water was quite low but clear. a few fish moving ,got  2 takers and missed several others on berries. water could come up a foot or two , so the drift would be nicer,....... had fun !!

No roe ? No problem. Use dew worms, krill, ghost shrimps

Ah the pressure to catch that first wave of Cap coho. ;)

Location doesn't really matter, as the fish at one spot near the lower would be up high the next morning.

Thanks Gooey....., well said..!!    I don't think at this time  it makes much of a difference, there are some fish and just being in the right spot the right time wether it's lower or upper .  a little more experience at it may give you that upper hand wether you get fish or not. put some time into it like  some of the other forum members and you may be rewarded....there are a lot of very good rods on this forum also that can give you some positive  feedback,

Looking at your pic Meca, I would guess you're one of the many users here on FWR that are in school and will shortly have a lot of time to fish.  Just get out there and have some fun, you will quickly find where the fish are holding (if at all).  When you can fish the upper end in 1-2 hours, you can't expect us to make it too easy for ya!

With the size of the cap, its proximitiy to the city, etc, etc, you wont find many people posting specifcs locations on the cap that have been good...it just creates too much pressure/hysteria.

No for sure.. i agree gooey... i personally put a lot of time into the cap though since it pretty much my backyard, but i mean an upper or lower river idea doesnt give away much... i mean its just an idea on what to use what time of the day and all that... ud be surprised as a youngen how much i get out there and fish compared to some of the regulars here on FWR so it not about gps coordinates im asking for, its a general idea... so ... and i know the cap is crowded being right in the middle of the city and all.. whateves its all good though
cheers

the way to fish the cap is to start at one end either top or bottom and work your way through the fishable pools till you get onto some fish or you end up in yer favorite spot and could care less if the next pool is holding the fish that don't seem to be in your fav spot. I just love kickin back and relaxing on that river.... it's so damn refreshing, the coho's are just the bonus.
