Post by: scottm on February 13, 2005, 02:02:39 PM
I got to the river about 7:25am only 3 guys on the stretch of water i was going to fish.I fished the run for about 45 minutes and nothing.I decided to move up river to the ranger run area water looked great easy 3 foot visibility but alot of guys.I worked my way around a few holes and had one solid hit but i missed it.I only saw one small trout caught. It was a great day to be out though, how was everybody else's luck?

;D 16 pound 12 ounce buck  ;D weighed in at riverside 0800hr.  enjoyed a free breakfast and pondered why i didn't enter the riverside derby as well as OTW.  any hoo proceeded to the store and ended weighing up at 16 8 bled out. shoulda been tied for first but I'm not too worried... 8)

there's got to be something said for persistance I tell you... Ijust had the entire week on the river and only managed two fish on one day. :-\ :'(  so after contemplating quitting altogether..lol
this is what I ended up with.. :D

actually think I am going to get it stuffed for above the fireplace..

ps if someone could help me out I have a pic to post...

Good going BCS. I know exactly what you're talking about because my first trip I hooked into two and my last 3 trips out I have been catchless. Like you said tho, persistence, and a love of this sport. Congrat's :D.

If the photo is digital, put it online, as in bring it up onto a "photo storage site" (photobucket.com or something). Once you have the "img" of the picture from the site, copy it, then come back to the forum. There's a small "button" just above text box when you post anything, you'll see a line of smilies, above that is a "button" wiht a spiral/bar knida thing, just to the right of that is another "button" that looks like a picture frame. Select it.

somethign like this should appear:   (http://)

Then, entre the "img" in between the two [img] things.

it should show up when you post.

Cam, I finally got one...after at least 10 trips to the river. Ran into Chronic before heading out.(around 9:45 a.m.) He told us the story of his 16pounder from the day before, saw the photos as well,  That's a pig!  Anyways, after some fish stories and more than a few 'bowl fulls' my buddy(FelixFlyfisher) and I wished him good luck and  depart to fish  some nice runs in the lower. I spotted  a good looking piece of water with a nice cut bank and two channels meeting. I thought...  there had to be fish in the area, so I flipped a few casts (pro-cured coho roe)with nada touch. After giving up in total despair (after at least 10 trips to the river  without a sniff), I put one more half-hearted cast out...  not really 'feeling' it. I decided to look up at the snow capped mountains mid drift, but when I looked back to where my float was... it was gone. Here'd it go? Couldn't be a fish...at that moment I felt the headshakes...fish on. After a respectable battle and one nice jump, I beached this chrome beauty. Got some nice photos and kept her. Number one for the season, hopefully there'll be more.
