For Pink Salmon there are too many to choose from.  But the two that I wouldn't be without are 'The Davie Street Hooker' and 'Pink Eve'.  In fact these are probably the one's that I will spend much time tying for in preparation for the next Pink season.  I have been using them for the last 2 Pink season. It did not seem to matter what the weather or water conditions are.  It simply works. 8) 8)

my main suggestion for pinks is to go sparse. Silver and a little pink. Believe it or not the more I trim down my fly the more action I get. Really watch the size of the flies, and if it is slow try trimming your fly down.. This has been deadly for me on the fraser and other local rivers.

You want someone to tie some of those Davie Street Hookers up and sell them to you? That does sound a little bad... :-X ;)

Anyways, here's a photo.

Mid to late June, that early? :o

Seymour - August
Tidal Fraser - end of August
Vedder September
Squamish - No openings this year, unless return is much higher than expected.

Any fly works... as long as you get it down and in the zone..... :)

Squamish pinks spawn early so egg mortality caused by the October flood in 2003 was high, they do not expect a high return. BBK can probably provide more information. This is unfortunate as the pinks were finally becoming plentiful, a nice sight to see two years ago. :-\

Most likely I personally would not be fishing for pinks in the Squamish if it opens because of what we went through two years ago. Compared to ten years ago, fishing pressure has gone up quite a lot, but at the same time the overall attitude towards the fishery has degraded. :(

My suggestion would be the Tidal Fraser this September. The pinks around here are chromest out of all the systems in the Lower Mainland. If you are not patient enough, maybe the Indian Arm (Cates Park near Deep Cove) would be productive in July. :)

As d_w said i wouldn't spend too much time tying elaborate flies for pinks as they will take almost anything that is offered to them. Just wrap a hook with some yarn(colour you choice, really doesn't matter) and some flashabou.
I usually spend one day on them in a river and i am done with pinks. Not the most challenging fish to catch.
I much prefer to catch them in the chuck where they are nice and chrome and if eaten the same day they can be surprisingly very good.
