Title: Vedder Salmon over...But is trout fishing any good?
Post by: BigFisher on December 02, 2004, 03:34:59 PM
I was woundering if trout fishing on the Vedder right now is any good? Are they not as plentiful as the Vedder salmon runs? and where abouts is best place to fish for them?  In the tamahi boulders or the open waters, like peach road?

A good bet now is to fish some of the backwaters and for that matter in the main stem as well of the Fraser. The Fraser Valley area can be productive at this time of year.

I get very few trout in the Vedder at this time of year but of course we will be after steelhead in a few days as it is December now. ;D ;D

in the  past during steelhead fishing i've caught lots of good sized rainbows.  Anywhere there's structure will have trout.

Are the trout as abundant as the fall salmon runs that come through on the Vedder?

No they are not as abundant and they hide under logs, fallen trees, behind large rocks etc
