been lurking all summer, picking up some great tips.just getting back into fishing.
well fished the cap on monday, had 3 on got 2 to the beach.the only keeper
was snagged so i let it go,the other was pretty much a tomato about 10 lbs though.fished below the highway bridge for about 3 hrs, first fish with waders on(i mostly laked fished before)was a hoot.i was using an orange
corkie with orange yarn.had to get deep to get them.
i m thinking of heading up to the squamish on sunday, any tips like where
to go would be great help, never fished there before.i ve fished vedder, cap
and the stamp,and so far all i ve caught where 2 dogs(buck & a doe).havn t
caught anything to keep yet and the coho season is almost done.isn t it?
cheers

Fished the Capilano this afternoon (Wednesday). Excellent water conditions; good visibility. Still a few fish lurking about. Hooked a couple on roe.

fa was the water still high and fast?
-
Hey Mr.pink, you could check the water levels here................http://members.axion.net/~vkc/

thx for the link.

For the Squamish, the popular spot for chum salmon would be the section from Mamquam River to downstream of Squamish River below that. The river rose quite a bit over the weekend due to rain, but has dropped a lot since then. It should be fishable once again but if we get more rain tomorrow it will probably rise. The weekend forecast looks pretty good though.
Oh and welcome, don't forget the personal profile thread (http://www.fishingwithrod.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=15.0). :)

welcome to the forum MR PINK!
hey Rodney,
me and my buddy fished that section of squamish from 7:00am to 4:00pm today (wednesday). there's still chrome one's to be had,we limited on the incoming tide this morning, all doe. maybe another five to seven release. the fish are coloring up quick. slowed down in the afternoon but still have fun with the odd one's. ;D
hope it will last untill the end of the month.
MR.PINK,if you want direction, send me an email.
tight lines!

Can you still drive along the dyke to the mouth of the Mamquam ?
-
Yes
but leave your vehicle there...don't bring it down onto the river bed
-
Probably to keep the hook off the bottom
-
FA,
twice already,i've seen DFO i think(dark blue uniform w/ gun),go down river and talk to all drivers of vehicle about something. i thought they gonna start writing ticket but not. the drivers that i ask tell me that they are asking people not to bring trucks in the river bed cause of any engine leaks that are bad for the river. they did'nt even bother checking licenses. but still every time i go out there, maybe five to twenty vehicles are always park by the river bed, they might be lazy walking ;D
tight lines!
