Title: Left hand or right hand multiplier??
Post by: ColinB on November 11, 2004, 03:32:39 AM
How do you cast. When casting and retrieving with a multiplier?
1. Do you cast with your right hand and wind in with your left? [Left hand wind multiplier]
2. Do you cast with your right hand and then change hands and wind in with your right hand?
3. Or vice versa if you are a left handed caster?

which of the above comes naturally?

I don't know what a multiplier is, but with a casting reel I cast and wind with my right hand.  With a spinning reel I cast with my right and wind with my left.  With a fly rod I cast right and gather in line with my left.  When it is time to wind it all back in, I use my right hand.  (when I wipe my butt I don't use either hand; I use toilet paper or a big leaf.)

I guess bait caster would be the same!

An english worker was held hostage by Gaddafi a few years back and when asked what he missed most he said Toilet paper!  He only used his right hand to eat when in captivity!

There is no right or wrong way. Strictly personal preference. I cast with both hands. Whenever I'm tired, I just switch hands.

I reel with my right hand but cast with either,  allowing the situation to dictate which arm to cast with.
