Went and fished 'the flow' today with my brother. Between the two of us we hooked over a dozen fish in about 2 hours. The fish were extremely aggressive today and were caught on just about everything: spoons, spinners, jensen eggs, flies. Most of the fish were bright with the odd tomato swimming around. Highlight of the trip was a coho pushing 10lbs. Here's some more pictures.

Nice fish

Good report. If it's not a secret, could you tell us what body of water you were at? It's nice to know where the fish night be, but don't give away your secret spot. I know how precious those are. ;)
-
Very nice fish guy's sounds like you had lots of fun out there. So was it the Vedder you guys were at or somewhere else.
-
Sorry guys but I can't tell you where it is. What I can say is that its a small creek/slough near my house and has a small run of coho of about 500. It does have a hatchery on it but none of the fish are ever clipped. Other than that the pictures I've posted are pretty liberal, it's kind of one of those if you fish it you'll know where it is type things.

nuf said. A small stream like that needs to be kept secret. I wish I had one.
-
Nice pics bc. You're lucky to have such a great small stream in your backyard.
I only had Still Creek when I was growing up :P

Went back out again today. Ended up getting 4 coho and 1 cutty. We got one cutty and one coho on jensen eggs. The other fish were caught on flies. The pictures aren't as good this time cause I only got a few off before the batteries died.

hey biffchan...good show. for a young guy you never seem to stop surprising us with your skills. and for god sakes don't tell anyone of that location. btw you ever tried using small jigs to catch coho in that creek/river. :)
-
Unfortunately biffchan has told everybody where it is. A few clues he left in this post and in previous ones, plus a search on the web led me right to it.
It did take a few minutes though to find it...
Next time biffchan, less is more.
-
clarki, if you do know where it is, please respect it and keep a tight lip. i
biffchan, looks like you had a good day, thats my favorite local trickle! u have mail!
-
Clarki, why would you even try to find it? You show a lack of respect for doing so. He didnt want everyone finding out and you just had to know.
-
Pictures are gone and won't likely be coming back again. So much for trying to light a fire under your my friend to go fishing :-[
-
what are the regulations on local creeks?
hard to find em on the dfo website, just curious.
nice fish!
-
pretty much 100% catch and release of course...they are VERy small runs

Everybody? Well..... How come I don't know? :-\ So, where is it? ;)

Lack of respect? Hardly... A few photos are posted, the temptation of knowing the location is there. Last time I checked, public streams are accessed by ALL users. Stating that he knows where the stream is does not show a lack of respect, NAMING the stream on the other hand, is a different story.
I post photos from time to time even when I do not wish to have my locations exposed. I do those at my own risk. If someone ends up identifying the location, I wouldn't like it, but it would be my own fault at the end.

nice fish!
For Lower Mainland:
Region 2 freshwater regulations (http://wlapwww.gov.bc.ca/fw/fish/regulations/reg-ii-lowmain.shtml)
Salmon regulations of streams of Region 2 (http://www-comm.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/pages/freshwater/regions/region2_e.htm)
Scroll down and look for a specific stream name that you are searching for. Look for the regulations right next to it. Check for opening sections, times, bait ban/other gear restrictions, daily quotas and minimal sizes. It really isn't that hard.
-
My point exactly Rod. To disclose the name would show a lack of respect. Notice I didn't do that.
You can't throw down the gauntlet and give the location, type of water, run size and presence of a hatchery, and not expect some curious souls with enquiring minds to do their own research.
I could have done the research and not posted about it, but I wanted to make a point. If you're going to post pictures and drop hints, sooner or later folks are going to put the pieces together.
Gee, I feel like a hacker half my age.

I suppose you guys are right after giving it some thought.

Ya we are, hand over the money! ;D Just kidding eddie. :) So I guess another group hug is needed? ;)

Rodney, this stream is no more then 10 feet wide in a lot of places, it is not posted in the regs. Any kind of retension on a creek like this would be detrimental. The pictures make the stream look bigger than it is, just because it is this big slow pool. Frankly, im really glad its not in the regs, it would most likely just draw attention to it. There are streams every where in the lower mainland and quite frankly most of them get some form of a coho and cutthroat return, even in very developed areas, people just never pay any attention and ignore them.
