Need to find a patch kit, anyone know wheres a good place to look? thx!
-
Any tackle shops should have Aquaseal
-
Give us some details on the tear and then we can advise appropriatly.
-
its the size of your thumbnail. :-[
my waders are neoprene.
-
Did you tear out a chunk or just tear a V?
-
a chunk :-\
-
Sew the tear on the inside and then apply a layer of Aquaseal. Once thoroughly dried, you may wish to apply a layer on the outside.
-
Go with SHOE GOO over Aquaseal. Aquaseal ruines neoprene..it makes it unworkable after application. Shoe goo does not. I would suggest going to a dive store, buying some neoprene glue...glueing it, and then re-enforce sewing JUST the surface (do not run the needle all the way through.

Either way, seems difficult. This is what i will gonna do.
1. Apply the patch on the inside.
2. Sew it on as well (not all the way through if possible)
3. Apply another patch on the outside.
Thanks for the help guys.

Have any of you had any big holes repaired? How did it hold up?
-
;D
climbing over a log. Got snagged on something.
-
try putting a piece of tape on the inside, covering the hole, then apply a gob of aquaseal on the outside that fills up the size of hole. When this hardens, pull the tape off and apply a thin coat of aquaseal to both sides of the waders. This has worked well for me in the past.

I put a piece of duct tape over the shoe goo to prevent it from being rubbed off while walking through log jams etc. Works great. Im easily spotted on the river with my various sized patches. Time for a new pair though me thinks although I am proud to display my alligence to duct tape.
