has anyone tried vanish fishing line for leader line? is it invisable as they say? if it is as good as they claim , you can tie leaders with a greater pound strenghth . the line is expensive if its good and fish cannot see it its worth the price.

never heard of anything like that! ???

I know of it, and have a spool of it, I haven't used it for fishing, but "tested" the invisibility in a swimming pool, it seemed invisible, looked as if I had a levitating weight in the pool.
It's made of flourocarbon (I think...), the stuff soem fly-guys use. Pure flourocarbon is expensive and fairly stiff, but the Vanish line has another coating on it, yet costs similar to other lines (at least where I got my spool from). I haven't heard the best "reviews" about it. It comes in big enough spools to fill an entire reel, but I haven't heard great things about it, stuff about it fraying and breaking, but I honestly don't really know.
All I know is that if it's as good as its adversised to be, why does anyone use anything else ? An invisible tough line would be a fisherman's dream.

I have a spool which I don't use. The only Vanish is your $$$$

I used some about two years ago, 10 LB. test. I found it worked pretty good and I was happy with the numbers of
fish I caught. In clear water conditions it does'nt hurt to have the edge. One big drawback I found was that it was more brittle than Maxima Ultra and would sometimes
snap to easily. I now am back to only using the old trusty Maxima.

Like Athezone said if there is any flurocarbon in it you've got to be real careful. They still haven't perfected that stuff yet and its very brittle and snaps very easily. I don't use it any more although it sounds good, very thin , very strong, but also very brittle.

Maxima Ultragreen is all you need

I agree with F.A. I bought it for price alone (it's cheap compared to the others) Not only do your $$$$ disappear, so do the fish. Used it on my chronomid line and it broke every time a fish hit. There is only one word to describe it--"garbage."
