Post by: oddjob on October 14, 2004, 08:13:55 PM
Has anyone used Crystal River Breathable Wadders ?  How are they for quality? Looking into getting a pair.

Have used a pair for a year. So far so good.

For $99.00 at Nikka this week, that's pretty reasonable.  I have looked at them in the past and I imagine if you're not planning to do any bushwacking in them they're probably ok.  They seem to be a little delicate.  My only other thought is they don't have any kind of padding in the knees (as far as I can remember) so you would have to be pretty careful when you're kneeling down in case you make a tear.  I tried them on a few years ago and personally didn't like the fit.

My first set of breathables were chrystal rivers they were all right for salmon season  but once I started putting on the miles steelheading they wore out pretty quickly on the seams between the legs . Second set under warranty same thing :( :(  My wife doesn't move around too much while fishing so they work well for her.  I upgraded though to bare blackwater a good investment

  I hope this helps

thanks for your input fellow fishers. I will consider a more durable pair since i want them to last a little longer.
