Title: Stave October 11th
Post by: newsman on October 11, 2004, 03:25:56 PM
Took my workmate the Assasin there Sat. to show him how to leadhead. We canoed over to island (water was a little high and fast) and worked two of the inside channels.

Started out with my Mat. Green and found the fish to be a little spooky and uninterested. Switched to my Mat. Red and began hitting fish, though they were still spooky and hard to spot. We also managed to get them on Coho Blue. Strange usually green is the color for the Stave, had to be the gray murk to the water.

Between the two of us we lost 6, landed 8. Kept 1 clean (white belly) female 10lb and 1 clean male 20lb. looking forward to hittting some of those crome tidewaters in the Squamish.

Hit the Stave again today with another one of the boys from work. We cooked in our neoprines but the fishing was good.

Released 30 Chum mostly big males. Kept one clean 15 lb male. Water was clearer today and they started hitting the green.

Straightened out more than a few #4 mustad salmon hooks, going to have to move #2's. Time to start tying again. Squamish Thursday.
