Got to the river around 10am, lotsa people, managed to land a buck chum around 20lbs, pretty dark and ugly looking, lost 3 other large fish, didnt see many people pulling them in, gf was fishing with roe, not even a nibble, got all my action on peach wool. After battling the fish my arms where getting tired so we headed to surrey for some bar fishing, regulars said that only a couple coho where caught in the morning as well as a couple dollys, apparently the rcmp kicked everyone off the beach so they could pull up a body they found in the river. Right before we were about to leave, about 4pm I hooked a smallish coho about 2 lbs, but it spit the hook about one foot from shore

Must have been one heck of a fight. I caught a 10 pounder yesterday on 6 pound test while goin for trout and it took 34 min to land. After about 20 huge jumps.

Did you keep the fish afterwards? ???
-
Me? I didnt it was nicely colored. But the fish shot off and looked fine.

I was at the top end of the Stave today with a friend. We got our Coho pretty quick on roe. We took two each around 14-16. ----- inches not pounds. My buddy lost a ~5lb. hoe. Lots of hook-ups with hoes. Seen a 10lb Spring come out and numerous Chum.
