My understanding is that the Squamish River is in area 29 and there are indeed even year pinks in this system. That said, the run is extremly small and is closed to angling. The hope is that this run will build into a significant size at some point in the future. This year was a "poor" run with maybe only a couple of hundread spawners.

Back in August I remember seeing a couple Pinks listed on the Whonnock net program results. My first thought was probably some UBC weiner not being able to ID a fish but I see I'm wrong. And before I piss too many people off about the UBC weiner hit - I'm just jealous that I didn't have the cash to go there but was able to pound thru BCIT instead. We won't have to worry about even year Pinks anymore. If there were only a few hundred spawners, the Natives probably wiped them out with their nets then probalbly threw them out because there's no money in Pinks.
